CAMROSE - Owen Chatwin is the latest hero of the Doyle Cup - and nobody deserves the role more than the Camrose Kodiaks’ captain.
The AJHL’s top club now holds a commanding 2-0 lead in this Alberta-B.C. Junior A championship series after Chatwin scored 1:12 into overtime last night to give Camrose a 4-3 victory over the Penticton Vees.
The Kodiaks win means Game 3 is Tuesday in Penticton.
The rest of the best-of-seven series will be played in Penticton.
“We said shoot high on (Alex) Evin,” said Camrose head coach Boris Rybalka, referring to the Vees’ netminder.
