N.S. Liberal leader says Tories shouldn't take budget support for granted

HALIFAX — Nova Scotia's Liberal leader warned the Conservative minority government Wednesday that it shouldn't take his third-place party's support for granted over its $8.4-billion budget.

And although Stephen McNeil stopped short of saying he would vote against the fiscal document, he hinted his support wasn't a given.

In fact, McNeil was in a mood to muse about the potential for an election, telling reporters his party will launch an advertising campaign Thursday aimed at boosting his profile provincewide.

"It's to introduce myself to Nova Scotians and to make sure the party is ready for a campaign when that campaign is called," he said.
