Disabled ferry returns to service

Ferry travellers got a break Sunday as the Spirit of British Columbia returned to service, three days after breaking a propeller.

The ship, which had not been expected to return until early this week, helped prevent the two- and three-sailing waits ferry officials had feared.

"You only get so many summer weekends, and we don't want to see anyone's travel experience impacted, so that's why we hustled like crazy to get it back into working order and full service restored," said B.C. Ferries CEO David Hahn.
