Dalai Lama says Tibetan community facing 'great danger'

DHARAMSHALA, India (AFP) — The Dalai Lama said Sunday that he was losing trust in Chinese officials and that the Tibetan people were facing "great danger."

"Recently I have been telling that my trust in Chinese officials has become thinner and thinner," he told a gathering of Tibetan exiles at the end of a week-long policy meeting in northern India.

"In the next 20 years, if we are not careful in our actions and planning, then there is great danger to the Tibetan community," the exiled spiritual leader said.

"We must try to think of innovative ways to sustain the Tibetan people," he said.
