In B.C., golf clubs traded for snow shovels

VANCOUVER -- It's a question that might stump only those who live outside British Columbia.

How do you know when winter weather in Victoria is really awful?

All the golf courses are closed.

With snowfall levels rivalling the North Pole, the golf courses in the province's capital were shut tight yesterday. Victoria normally has the mildest winter in Canada, with gloating golfers on the greens on Christmas Day. Not this year.
